The importance of knowing the sire and dam of your goldendoodle puppy’s litter, is something that can not be stressed enough, in my opinion. Bad genetics can cost you a small fortune. Something you may not know is that a puppy or two from a litter can pass health testing while the rest don’t. They are the lucky ones and sometimes a breeder will buy one and use it as a breeding dog. What are the chances that the dog will pass down a genetic health issue considering the majority of the litter would have it? It is important to know the health history within the pedigree of both parent dogs. You don’t want a parent dog that lucked out in the gene pool. It is important to ask questions. Most of us dog lovers consider our dogs part of our family and a family member. The most we can hope for is a long and happy life for our pets.
